In-Term Swimming Classes 2025

Children from Years PP – 6 are eligible to attend swimming lessons in Terms 1 and 4.

Swimming lessons for Years 5 and 6 begin on Day 1, 5th February 2025, of the school year and conclude on Friday 14th February.  With such an immediate start we do require the enrolment and permission form prior to the first swimming lesson.

As the enrolment form is required for the swimming instructors you may:
  • return the form via email
  • return the form with your child on the first day
  • fill in the form when you bring your child to school on that first day (hard copies will be available in each of the classrooms)
Students will need to bring their bathers, rashies, towel, goggles and thongs for each lesson.  There will be sunscreen available but you may like to include sunscreen.

Lunch times will be adapted to support the swimming lesson times.  It may be best for students to bring their lunch over these lesson days instead of ordering.

Special Medical Conditions:

Children with medical conditions, which could put them at risk, may need some precautions taken by swimming staff and parents. This information should be indicated on the swimming enrolment form.

  1. If your child suffers from any form of medical condition involving periodic loss of consciousness they will not be allowed to swim unless a current medical certificate is produced stating that they can participate in aquatic sports. In some cases additional supervision may be necessary.
  2. A child suffering from diabetes – advice has been given that additional supervision (one-to-one) is essential. This can be a parent, relation or friend. The person does not have to be in the water with the child, but they must maintain eye contact.
