Students have been training hard for the Athletics Carnival over the past couple of weeks at school. A reminder that we will have the Distance runs, Throws and Jumps on Wednesday 15th August and the Athletics Carnival on Friday 17th August, weather permitting. It would be greatly appreciated to have parent support on either of these days to help with measuring or place judging. If you would like to help out, please get in contact with Mr Mansfield at shaun.mansfield@education.wa.edu.au. This year, we will have a Handbook for the carnival which outlines rules, proceedings and expectations for both days. This will hopefully clarify any questions or concerns you may have. A polite reminder to parents to stay within the spectator area throughout the duration of the carnival (this will be made obvious with bunting). This is to ensure smooth operation of the carnival and ensure judges have a clear view at the finish lines. We are also planning on running a three-legged race and/or a 100m sprint for teachers and parents at the end of the day if time is permitting. Make sure to bring some joggers if you are interested in joining.
